Désiré Doué: Rising talent

Introduction

Désiré Nonka-Maho Doué, (full name) or just Doué, is a French soccer player, rising rapidly in skill and technique. He was born on June 3, 2005, in Angers, France by a French mother, and an Ivorian father, giving him both French and Ivorian nationalities. He is currently 20, and he already has a good record of his younger career. He plays as an attacking midfielder, or winger at PSG, (Paris Saint Germain) and he’s on his second year with the national team. (He first played on March 2025)

He started on his first major team in 2021, and he played for the development academy squad of Stade Rennais. He was playing there for already a year, when, in 2022, the professional Ligue 1 Stade Rennais club invited him to come play with them.

He accepted, and the most challenging part was that for a year, he was balancing the academy, but also the professional team. He played on two different teams of Stade Rennais! In 2023, he finally left the Stade Rennais academy to join the professional side.

This was the debut of his professional career!

The Next Gen

Désiré Doué, is an excellent player on the pitch. He dribbles around defenders like he’s a hot knife cutting through butter, he passes the ball like rockets, but he also often gets compared to… Lamine Yamal

The golden era of modern soccer has felt unforgettable, led by the incredible rivalry between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, two superstars who didn’t just break records, but set new standards for what greatness means. Around them were amazing players like Kevin De Bruyne, known for his thoughtful passing, and Toni Kroos, who controlled games so calmly. Luka Modrić made midfield look easy, while Neymar Jr brought skill, tricks, and excitement every time he touched the ball. Even in goal, Thibaut Courtois stepped up in the biggest moments. But as this generation slowly moves on, a new one is rising.

Many of these stars are soon retiring. But not all hope is lost, because a new generation of young stars like Désiré Doué and Lamine Yamal are already showing huge potential, proving that even though one golden era is ending, another exciting chapter in soccer is just getting started.

Future Expectations

Désiré Doué is already showing an impressive amount of success, and many people are already talking about how much more progress is yet to come!

He is expected by progression experts to turn into a consistent, world-class athlete. He will most likely dominate matches using his dribbling, vision, and goal-scoring abilities. He is already considered a key player for PSG, having already scored 16 goals, and 16 assists in the 2024/2025 season.

Even though Doué’s meant to represent PSG as their young star, the Premier League team Manchester City is very interested in him. During this year’s transfer window, City plans to try and negotiate with Luis Enrique, and sign a £100+ million pound contract for Doué.

The 2026 Soccer World Cup is coming up, and many fans would like to see Doué or Lamine Yamal, the two youngsters, win the World Cup. The other side of fans would probably like to see some of the older, Golden Era players like Ronaldo, win their last World Cup.
