Weight lifting; A sport for everyone

In this article, we’ll be talking about what weight lifting is.

Introduction

Weight lifting is a gym sport, which involves someone lifting weights.

(heavy pieces of solid metal) Weight lifting exercises your arms (biceps and triceps), core muscles (abdominals, and back muscles), legs (Quadriceps, hamstrings and glutes), and also other parts of the body like the chest, and shoulders.

Impact

Weight lifting might be hard work, but after a while, the impact it has on you is wild.

Weight training offers huge advantages that help people become stronger and healthier. It builds muscle mass, which helps to increase a person’s resting metabolic rate. The added strength also helps with everyday activities, like carrying groceries… It can improve bone density, which is very important as people get older.

A person can build stronger muscles and improve their flexibility and balance, which helps to prevent injuries. Weightlifting is also great for mental health and has been shown to reduce anxiety and boost self-esteem. It can help manage blood sugar levels and reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes.

Overall, consistent weight training can lead to a better quality of life for people of all ages.

Injury prevention

Of course, weight lifting has some disadvantages, like the possibility of injury.

For injury prevention when lifting weights, it is super important to start with a good warm-up. Begin with lighter weights and make sure your form is correct before increasing the weight. Listening to your body is also key, so if something hurts, stop and try again later. Make sure to rest your muscles and give them enough time to recover between workouts.

Also, staying hydrated and eating well will give your body the fuel it needs for a good, and safe workout.

Fake Myths

Some people always talk about the most random, peculiar, things sometimes. Just like how there are fake rumours going around claiming stuff like “Lifting heavy weights makes women bulky” or “cardio after lifting hurts muscle growth.”

Well, what if I told you that all of that nonsense is wrong! First off, women will not leave the gym bulky after lifting weights, and generally, cardio after weight lifting isn’t too bad.

Sometimes, people will try to discourage you in many different ways. Maybe, perhaps, one of those ways is by saying that if you go to a gym, you’ll look ugly, or that you’ll be weak if you do too much cardio exercise. Those two examples, I can safely say, are fake. But still, be careful; not everything on the internet is real.

Good quality Gear

I will dedicate this paragraph to those who already have experience in weight lifting, (Or to those who want to start with good gear) and to the good quality gear you can buy for reasonable prices.

A good starter weight-lifting bench is the – Ironmaster Super Bench Adjustable Utility Bench – This weight lifting bench is good for people of all age, size, and experience!

A relatively good-priced Weight Plate, would be the – REP Fitness Iron Plates – These weight plates come in all sorts of masses, the lowest being 5 pounds, and the highest, 45 pounds.

If you’re looking for good kettlebells, take a look at the –  Iron Bull Strength Powder-Coated Kettlebells. – These don’t really have much of a description, but they are still probably worth checking an eye on.

Finally, to complete your collection of gear, a nice sled is the – Rogue Cast Pack Sled – This tool allows you to place multiple weights on a sled, and push it. This is a great starter tool to strengthen those biceps!

Conclusion

Weight lifting is overall an amazing sport, strengthening your mind, muscles, and physical wellbeing along with your dedication to consistent exercise. As long as you do it correctly, take brakes from time to time, and keep your body healthy, you’ll have a great time!
