In this article, we’ll be talking about if sports could corrupt your education.
Any kind of sport is great for your brain in general, because the more you exercise yourself, the more blood rushes to your brain. Which could lead to; enhanced memory, more concentration, diverse creativity, and superb logic, and plenty more of those problem-solving skills. According to scientific research, physically active students are 15% more likely to reach college. But of course, some sports aren’t that healthy for your brain if you unfortunately get a concussion. (Don’t worry, it doesn’t mean that your favorite sport is bad.)
Sports with a high risk concussion percentage, are sports like:
Wrestling, boxing, lacrosse, American football, rugby, and baseball.
But that’s only the concussion percentage. In general, these sports are also very good for your health. A thing I’d like to clarify, is that doing a sport in or out of school can use up a lot of space from your calendar, and a lot of time from your life. But the problem is; in some colleges when you’re doing sports inside of school, the sports team coach will sometimes create fake courses and lessons so that the students learn nothing, and instead, they’re playing sports outside while everyone thinks they’re learning! And the worst part of that is: They don’t get paid! Really, they don’t! Their parents pay for most of their college thinking they’re learning, but instead, 1. They’re not learning anything, 2. They’re practicing sports and breaking rules, 3. They’re not even getting paid; all the money goes to the coach and the school, but the students don’t get paid! All that to show you that they do all that hard work and educational sacrifice for nothing at all! Though some people (Like me & my friends) don’t mind participating in sports. I use around 5-7 hours per week doing soccer, and trust me, it’s a lot of work, but it’s really fun! In my free time, I play sports with my friends, so that during class time I can concentrate on my work and forget about my daily fitness. If I can give my honest opinion, I don’t think sports are too much of a distraction when it comes to education.
