Hopefully you enjoy this article!

Introduction

Kevin De Bruyne, is a Belgian soccer player that recently transferred from Manchester City to Napoli FC; a club in Italy. He is currently 34 years old and still going strong! In this article, we’ll be talking about the impact of this move.

Impact

The impact of his move to Napoli is pretty huge–it made thousands of Man City fans sorrowful, and emotional, but it also made thousands of Napoli fans excited, and joyous. Kevin says that some of the reasons he left are the following:

  1. He wanted to play high-level soccer outside of the U.K.
  1. He also wanted the chance to play with his international teammate, Romelu Lukaku.

De Bruyne made his debut for Napoli on August 23, 2025. On his debut, he scored a free kick to seal a 2-0 victory against Serie A team Sassuolo. The first goal of the game was scored by Scott McTominay in the 17th minute of the game.

Tactics

We also have to look at this tactically; De Bruyne offers a sense of exceptional creativity that Napoli didn’t have before his arrival. He also acts like a central playmaker, and offers a chaotic imaginative element that lines up with Antonio Conte’s organized, but aggressive tactics.

Playstyles

Kevin’s playstyle depends on the formation of the team; some formations are more defensive, in which case he plays aggressively, and most of the time finds himself in CDM (Center Defensive Midfielder). And in other cases, he would play hardcore offense, in which he creates goal opportunities for his team out of thin air! He will most likely find himself in CAM (Center Attacking Midfielder). Other times, he will be playing CM (Center Midfielder), because this position is crucially important to the team; it links defense, and offense.

Conclusion

Kevin is an amazing soccer player, and many people hope for the best for him and his new club.

I think he’ll crush it at Napoli with teammate Lukaku by his side!
