In this article, we’ll be talking about the game where Bam Adebayo made 83 points. It was an amount of points scored by a single player that we hadn’t seen in about 20 years.
Bam Adebayo achieved a record that no one believed would be beaten. He made 83 points in a single game vs the Washington Wizards where the Heats won 129-150. On this day, Adebayo passed Kobe’s 81 point game in second place behind Wilt Chamberlain. Making 7 three pointers, 13 two pointers and 36 free throws is one of the best records we ever saw in NBA history. He made 31 points in the first quarter. This performance set a Miami Heat franchise record for points in any quarter played. Bam set himself 2 NBA records this night: 36 free throws and being second in the standings of NBA points in one game. It doesn’t mean that Adebayo scored 83 points in a game that he had a great season. He only averaged 20.1 points per game and scored 1,468 points in the season. Sadly, they lost vs the Charlotte Hornets in the Play In by one point (126-127) after OT (Over Time). In that last game of the season, Bam Adebayo made only 6 points. He got hurt in the 1st quarter not allowing him to come back in the game.
