Blood Doping; a Dangerous cheating method in sports

Introduction

In this article we will be talking about blood doping. Blood doping has been used by many athletes over the years, it is very dangerous for an athlete’s body. 

Science Behind Blood Doping

There are multiple types of blood doping but the most known type is the method in which you take out blood from your body. The method is simple: you take out blood from your body, put the blood in a freezer to preserve it and then a few months later you reinject the blood in your system. While being preserved in the freezer, the blood has taken in more oxygen.Oxygen helps your system go faster during a race or exercise. The dangerous part of this method is that reinjecting blood can cause heart failure and turn your blood to sludge. When your blood turns to sludge it creates blood clots in your body. Blood doping is a dangerous threat to your body

Famous Blood Doper

A famous athlete that was blood doped was Lance Armstrong. Lance Armstrong was a professional cyclist that participated in many races. When he admitted that he blood doped he lost all of his titles. He had won 7 Tour de France and other races. It was a shock when we found out that he was blood doping.
