Introduction
This article will be talking about Ligue 1, the equivalent of the MLS in France. Let’s not waste any time and start the article!
History
Ligue 1 was created by the Federation Française de Football (FFF). They wanted a national league with all the best French teams in a 37 – journey (1 journey=1 weekend). A few teams boycotted the league, mostly because of bankruptcy, but a few teams joined. The three best teams would move to the Champion’s League. After the first tries, all the teams wanted to join, so they created Ligue 2. The two best from Ligue 2 would replace the two worst from Ligue 1, and the third best of Ligue 2 would play against the third worst from Ligue 2. The winner went to Ligue 1.
