Introduction
You probably never heard about shin-kicking, a bizarre sport that involves kicking someone in the shin, but weird enough (this is a weird sport) it has a world cup! Ready to learn about this “sport”? Then let’s go!
History
Shin-kicking was invented in England around the 17th century. It was part of the Cotswold Olimpick Games (it has a weird spelling), a major competition of the as a very popular sport, actually. It is illegal to bet on shin-kicking. It is also called shin-digging or purring and was called clog-fighting. Competitors had to wear white coats that represented shepherds’ smokes. It was a popular sport among Cornish minors, as a subset of Cornish wrestling, a different type of martial art.
Rules
Shin-kicking is a sport where a referee, or “stickler” is in charge of surveying the game. The sport is about the ability to endure pain. The loser had to cry “suffisant” when he had enough. In modern competitions, the winner wins when he makes his opponent fall with a kick in the shin. Competitors are required to wear soft shoes and are recommended to stuff their pants. An ambulance attends the game (just in case). This far, it seems pretty easy, right? But I still didn´t tell you something: you are required to hold each other’s collar! Now it´s harder!
Conclusion
I know this article is short, but I didn’t get that much help with the little info on the internet. Anyways, shin-kicking is a sport that is a little unknown but really impressive. A sport that seems like a soccer foul. But maybe it will be, someday, more popular? If you liked this article, please subscribe and thank you!
