His wrestling debut

John Cena began his professional wrestling career in 1999, at the time he was 22 years old.

John Cena’s first WWE match was in 2002 against Kurt Angle.

At that time, the most popular wrestlers were Stone Cold, Steve Augustin, Triple H, and of course, The Undertaker and The Rock, who were WWE superstars. At that time, the WWE legends were in their twilight years, and no one knew that the future wrestling star was already there.

Serious opponents

John Cena has faced WWE stars, and some tough matches have been especially tough against Randy Orton, Brock Lesnar, and Rey Mysterio. John Cena dethroned Hulk Hogan and The Rock and became the most successful WWE champion of all time, with three world titles and 14 WWE Championships. But he wasn’t always a wrestling star; he also starred in several films as a leading man.

John Cena has always been the favorite in wrestling matches, even against The Undertaker or The Rock.

John Cena’s Moves

Every wrestler has a move that John Cena likes best, and that’s the famous move where he carries his opponent on his back and swings them onto their left side. For example, Randy Orton’s move is the RKO, which involves catching his opponent’s punch and falling onto his back, knocking his opponent onto his stomach. Rey Mysterio’s move is the 619, where he grabs the top and fourth ropes, swings his body outside, and catches himself at the last moment to kick his opponent. John Cena’s move has become one of the most famous moves in the world.

“You can’t see me”

John Cena’s famous “You Can’t See Me” move was born out of a joke by his little brother, Sean.

While he was recording a song for his rap album, his little brother started doing a dance inspired by the 50 Cent song, where he waves his hand in front of his face.

Thinking Cena wouldn’t do it, his little brother challenged him to do the dance in front of the world’s cameras. And he did it. He didn’t do the dance, he just did the move and associated it with “You Can’t See Me.”

He first performed the move on Velocity, a WWE sideshow, to show his opponents that he was superior to them. Now this move is so well-known that whenever we think of John Cena, we immediately think of the move. Incredible, isn’t it? A joke from his little brother has become the most famous move in WWE.

His Family

John Cena has no children. He explained that he wouldn’t have children because he said it was too much of a responsibility and he didn’t want to take on more, but he has been married to Shay Shariatzadeh since 2022.

From wrestler to actor

Although Cena is the wrestler with the most titles in WWE, he has also starred in several films, including Heads of State, Fast X, and many others.
