Introduction
Muay Thai, a big popular sport, is a martial art, a fighting sport and its origins are from Thailand. renowned for its unique combination of punches, kicks, elbows, knees, and clinching technique.
Ancient roots
Muay-thai evolved from the battlefield tactics of the Siamese (or Thai) army, with origins in the 13th century by Nai Khanom Tom. He was often called; the father of muay-thai.
Thanks to his fighting technique, the Siamese team defeated the Burmese in a martial arts tournament. It is a Thai sport that uses martial arts and it was created as a form of combat for soldiers during the *Sukhothai era.
Present-Day Muay-Thai
Muay-thai used to be a sport that was rarely practiced, and only used in times of distress. Nowadays, it is a very common martial arts sport known as the “Art of Eight Limbs”.The Art of The Eight Limbs is a nickname that surrounds the striking appearance of the sport, which include punches, elbows, knees, and kicks. This increase of both upper and lower body striking makes for an intriguing, fast-paced, and powerful sport.
Conclusion
I think it is a fun sport because it offers a comprehensive approach to fitness, self-defense, and mental discipline.
* Sukhothai era meaning “Dawn of Happiness,” refers to the period of the first independent Thai kingdom, flourishing in what is now north-central Thailand from the mid-13th to the mid-15th century.
