In this article, we’ll be talking about if soccer players are overpaid or not.
Well the answer is probably yes. You see, the average soccer player has a salary of 500,000-2,000,000 USD a year in Europe when the wage of a person there is around 25,000 euros a year. Clubs also win a lot of money which might explain why the salary is so high. Premier League clubs are sure to get at least 9,500,000 pounds or 11,000,000 euros from commercial ads. If they win, the prize is a golden trophy that is surprisingly just 7,000 pounds (money) and 62 million pounds or 75,000,000 euros. But there are some exceptions like CR7 (4,000,000 USD) who’s the highest paid soccer player, or Alex Mighten (4,300 USD a week); currently the least paid soccer athlete (poor guy, I feel bad). According to the National Institute of Health, the odds of getting injured are 4 to 35 per 1000 hour exposure. That means there’s a chance of getting injured, and can be pretty bad, so that can be a factor that affects the players salary. Ankle sprains and knee injuries are some common injuries but aren’t the worst. They do however prevent the person affected from playing sports for a while. If the players perform poorly, don’t play a lot or do great well, it also contributes to the amount paid which is something common. Soccer players also get a signing bonus after transferring from a club to another. It’s usually to attract players to join the club and get excellent players for more prize money. All in all, in life, money is not what’s most important, so we should not worry too much about who has more money.
