In this article, we’ll be talking about skiing. Skiing is a pretty complex sport, with lots of varieties. Let’s start off with the history. Skiing was invented over 4,000 years ago in Norway, and was made by the Sami people. They were made out of wood and animal bones, and were used for hunting. And they have evolved ever since. Now, the contests. The types of contests include: alpine, freestyle, cross-country, ski jumping and nordic. They also have multiple types of contests in each category. First of all, alpine skiing is downhill, where the objective is to go as fast as you can. Next freestyle. Freestyle is where contestants perform aerial flips and tricks. To win, you must gain as most points as possible. Thirdly, cross-country. Cross-country is where players compete to get to a finish while on skis on snow through non-sloped areas. After, we have ski jumping (Pretty self explanatory, in my opinion). The objective in ski jumping is to jump as far as you can on skis off a humongous ramp. And last but not least, Nordic skiing. In this type of skiing (No, it’s not a contest, my bad), You encounter flat, hilly or uneven terrain and get around on skis, and it is mostly for everyone. Well, that’s about it. Thanks for reading my article, and have a nice day!
