Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo?

The greatest football debate in history…

You might pick Messi since he is in your favorite team or that he is insane at dribbling or Ronaldo because of his world famous celebration and that he is the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time)/ the best penalty taker of all time. But for all the ones who are clueless, you may just have an idea after reading this. Both of them are great players with a number of talents which have been showcased to the world with trophies, awards, and even world records. I said that Ronaldo is the best penalty taker in all of history and that is undeniable after looking at statistics. The athlete has scored a total of 164 out of 199 penalties in his professional career since 2002 when Messi, on the other hand, has shot 140, but only scored 109 out of these, or 78% success rate. He has won 45 team trophies, single world cup, 6 golden boots, 12 league titles, 2 Copa de America and finally, 4 UEFA Champions League titles, beating CR7 in almost all awards except for Champions League titles. Cristiano has won 7 league titles, 5 UEFA Champions League titles, 4 golden boots but can’t participate in the Copa de America and hasn’t yet won his first world cup. Still, he has gotten 5 Ballon d’Ors, from which 4 at Manchester United, 2 after Messi with 8. He (Ronaldo) is rated a solid 86 overall; only 2 ratings less than Leonel. His ratings (Phy, Sho, Pac, Pas, Dri, Def) are all around 80, except for defending, which is natural for strikers, left/right wings and CAMs (Central Attacking Midfielder). Messi also has his ratings all around 80; and like CR7, his defending is also pretty low and his dribbling skills for which he is most known for. It turns out that most of his agility and great control over the ball actually is because of Messi’s height. When he was 11, Leonel suffered a growth hormone deficiency that made shorter than most kids his age but thankfully was treated with the correct medicine by his former club, FC Barcelona. Ronaldo’s shooting is something almost any fan of his would know that it is powerful. Really powerful… Thanks to his diet and regular workout routine, it helped him eventually get stronger. So now you understand how he scored a free kick from 35 yards from the goal at a speed of 113 mph/182 kmh. When it comes to clubs, things could not get farther apart. Ronaldo played for Real Madrid whilst Messi was at Barcelona; El clasico. Then, Cristiano has been at Juventus, Al Nassar, and Man United. But Lionel has played at PSG in one of the greatest attacking trio: Neymar Jr, Mbappe, and of course, Messi. For market values and salary, Messi makes a total of around 1 million USD, 3.5 million less than Ronaldo’s record breaking salary at Al Nassar of 200 million a year! No wonder why he was the first soccer player to be a billionaire after Faiq Bolkiah, member of the royal family of Brunei. For the actual market value, Messi wins this time! He’s valued at 150 million USD, quite a bit over Ronaldo’s value of 133 million USD. In the end, the answer remains personal preference and I really hope you have your mind, or even changed opinion!
